Would continuously splashing the cash ruin our philosophy?

Some footballing fans believe that Manchester United's £145.7m spent this summer is ruining our philosophy.

The United way is not to spend big but make a marquee signing every so often and produce young talent on the side as well.

This summer we spent over £145.7m on transfer fees with wages not included. It occurred to me that we needed to splash the cash in order to retain a new set of players.

Negotiation power was low due to last seasons success of not acquiring Champions League but it is evident that big players still want to come to Old Trafford.

Splashing the cash wouldn't ruin our philosophy now but maybe in the long run with a host of youngsters out on loan or departing this summer.
More than ironically however Manchester United still have the most amount of young academy players in the whole league (10) compared to London club and big spenders Chelsea (3).

It would be okay if we build a galacticos style team but do what Real Madrid did in developing youngsters into that team such as Jeśe Rodriguez,Alvaro Morata, Nacho etc.

A lot of young United players are able to replace players such as Shaw,Rojo and Jones who are undoubted replacements for golden oldies Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic.

To answer my first question splashing the cash will not ruin our philosophy. Only if we keep to it an give youth and signings a equal chance at first team opportuinties.
