United didn't have enough money

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has admitted that Manchester United did not have enough money to buy any of his players.

It was speculated that Manchester United were attempting to lure Bastien Schweinsteiger, Thomas Müller and possibly Thiago.

Guardiola said “They don’t have enough money.I saw they spent a lot of money. It’s good for my friend Louis (Van Gaal)."

In the summer that just passed Manchester United splashed out on £145.7m on players not including the loan fees.

Bayern had however beat United to target Medhi Benatia as he joined the Germany champions this summer.

He also said “It depends on the player. If the player wants to play, he will play. If he wants to stay, he will stay. We have seen it many times."

Manchester United obviously can not purchase any new acquisitions until January when the window opens.

According to recent speculation no Bayern Munich squad member is linked to Old Trafford or a United player linked to the Allianz Arena.

He finished by saying “Manchester United want these players, but they decide to stay here and we are happy.”

It is more than certainly right that we did have enough money to get the Bayern players but we weren't willing to pay over the responsible value.

A possibility that would have been a pleasant welcoming but I'am happy and content with what we have done in the transfer market this summer.
