Manchester United are closing in on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ikay Gundagon as we look set to complete our first signing of the summer window.

Even though the window is not open yet the transfer will go through on the 1st July.

Gundagon will have contract talks over the weekend and the reported fee is around €30 million.

The news first broke on sky Germany and is now being reported across the various media sources including sky sports news.

A central midfielder is 24 years old who predominantly plays in defensive midfield. His strongest ability is passing although he is a very good dribbler of the ball as well.

This isn't the first time that the midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester United but circumstances changed when he was out for an astonishing 403 days in August 2013 due to a compression of spinal injury.

Consequently the German midfielder gained a lot of weight and forced being dropped out of Dortmunds team completely. He has lost all the weight that he gained and looks the same player that you did beforehand prior to the injury.

If the deal should go through Gundagon will be the first ever German player to play for Manchester United.
