With the striker sent for scans on Wednesday we anxiously wait to see the extent of his injury.

In hoping it is not serious which it seems to primarily not be with Rooney saying he was okay for Stoke but not featuring.

Boss Louis Van Gaal said after Stoke "It's his knee but we have to wait to say anything about him because you never know with a knee."

The former Everton man was seen watching on from the stands in United's 2-1 victory over Stoke along with other injured casualties at Old Trafford.

The boss also added on Tuesday "My opinion is it's not so serious but I'm not a doctor. We have to wait for the scan on Wednesday, then we'll know more. I hope it's not so serious."
