Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has played down talks that his future at Old Trafford is in doubt.

The in-form keeper has been speculated for a move to Champions League winners Real Madrid in recent weeks.

De Gea said "It is difficult to say whether a bid will be made by Real, because of all the rumours that appear in the press."

The former Atletico Madrid shot stopper has been linked in a swap deal with Real Madrid for Gareth Bale and has been rumoured to leave United if European qualification is not seen this season.

The familiar scene of a Manchester United and Real Madrid negotiation may occur against with deals over the summer and throughout the years happening between the two.

The man bought in 2011 for £18m added "In Manchester I feel wanted. If you took seriously what is written about you, you'd almost think you're going to a thousand clubs."

The Spanish international is still in contract renewal negotiations but an agreement has not been official made which could be an issue.

He finally added "So the best you can do is pay attention to where you are. ‘I feel very loved by Man United'."

It is evident that many United fans including myself want to see De Gea sign a new contract at any cost.

I hope that De Gea signs on for an extended stay at Manchester United with him being our player of the season so far.
