Robin Van Persie has completed his move from Manchester United to Fenerbahce in a deal believed to be worth €6.5m.

The Dutchman joins fellow ex United team mate Luis Nani at Fenerbahce as he agrees a four year deal keeping him at the club until 2019.

The former Arsenal man was greeted to a hero welcome as he arrived in Istanbul today. Mobbed by Fenerbahce fans he posed for pictures and signed autographs.

RVP said as he arrived to fans "What I'm seeing here is incredible. Thank you for your support. I hope I can make you very happy . It is an honour to see you here."

Van Persie signed for Manchester United back in August 2012 for a £24m fee and ended up being crucial in that season having scored 30 goals from 48 appearances.

It had always been the 31 year olds dream to win the Premier League and having joined United in the 2012/13 season and winning them almost single handedly our 20th Premier League trophy it was a special occasion.

Van Persie will always be remembered greatly in Manchester United history books as he has had so many great moments whether they be scoring an injury time winner against Manchester City at the Ethiad or it be his sensational volley to wrap up the title against Aston Villa.

The Flying Dutchman leaves Old Trafford having played 105 matches and scoring 58 times. An incredible record and he will surely not be forgotten! #ThankYouRVP
