Germany were crowned the world champions as they have won the World Cup for a fourth time in their history. A World Cup triumphant as a last gasp piece of brilliance from Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Götze.

A descended champions as this young side with an average age of 26 have powered through the World Cup to crown themselves as the footballing champions of the world.

The feeling must have been channeling through the German fans and Götze as seven minutes from when Andre Schürrle had chipped the ball into the middle of the box. The Germans had been failing to mix their play up when delivering crosses but this time they had and Götze was their to finish past Sergio Romero.

The Germans will now hope to empower the footballing scene in the same why Spain did for some time.

The game it self had been a lacklustre game with chances being blown here and their throughout the game by both World Cup finalists.

The best chance fell to Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain on 24 minutes when he was put through one on one with golden glove keeper Manuel Neuer. He had been given as the commentator called it "a World Cup gift"

Argentina did have a goal disallowed rightly by the linesman who were fantastic on the night. Higuain had thought he made amends for his missed chance earlier in the game but was infact a yard in front of the play.

The World Cup final was much compared to the one of 2010 as a late goal in the dying seconds of extra time have helped clinch the country a golden covered World Cup trophy.

The Germans had most of the ball throughout the match and were the more creative team for most of the game. Argentina liked to play on the counter attack with the pace that they possessed up front with Sergio Agüero and Lionel Messi.

Argentinas star player Lionel Messi did lose the World Cup but won the golden ball unfairly. In the World Cup final your best players are suppose to shine through and help push the team to get their hands on the sport worlds greatest trophy. Messi in the tournament has not lived up to expectations and has not shined for his team outside the group stages.

Man of the match was Mats Hummels a sensational performance from him tonight was sublime as his tackling was spot on every time. He contained Messi for most of the game and was not rash in his decision making, the Dortmund defender was strong and powerful at the back as his side kept a clean sheet. It was a great performance from the Manchester United target.
